This new website is an expansion and relaunch of the Jaundice James blog which was originally hosted on Google Blogger. Jaundice James originally began as a pseudonym and anonymous blog in October of 2005 when I lived in the red state of Colorado and feared the things I would write could get me killed. JJ mostly served as an outlet for venting political frustrations, but quickly developed a small but loyal fan base of people who enjoyed my unique voice and point of view.
My interest in politics began in earnest during the 2000 Presidential Election campaign and eventually turned into an obsession that brought me here to Washington to be closer to it all. My political opinions and writing style have evolved and I’m less defined by my atheism than I once was. I’ve also become far more interested in telling authentic real life stories and trying to find meaning and inspiration in the world around me, than following the traditional political blogger template
Jaundice James is, as it has always been, in constant flux as my interests and writing habits change. It may not always cover the same material, but it will, I hope, always be interesting. Please join me as I continue to vent my political frustrations, try to find a bit of profundity in the world around me, and chase after whatever inspires and excites me at the moment.
